Java Engineer Role overview We are looking for an experienced Java Engineer with strong expertise in designing and developing scalable, high-quality software applications and backend services. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and ownership of complex engineering challenges. Key Responsibilities ⢠Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and services. ⢠Translate business and technical requirements into scalable software solutions. ⢠Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend integrations. ⢠Participate in architecture and design discussions. ⢠Perform code reviews and promote engineering best practices. ⢠Troubleshoot complex technical issues and support root-cause analysis. ⢠Write unit, integration, and automated tests. ⢠Improve application performance, security, scalability, and maintainability. ⢠Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams. ⢠Mentor junior and mid-level engineers. ⢠Contribute to technical documentation and continuous process improvement. Essential Skills and Experience ⢠Strong experience in Java development. ⢠Good knowledge of Spring Framework and Spring Boot. ⢠Experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services. ⢠Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and SOLID principles. ⢠Experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle. ⢠Experience with JPA, Hibernate, or similar ORM frameworks. ⢠Strong unit and integration testing experience using JUnit, Mockito, or equivalent tools. ⢠Good understanding of the software development life cycle and Agile methodologies. ⢠Experience with Git, code reviews, debugging, and static code analysis. ⢠Knowledge of application security, authentication, and authorization. ⢠Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. ⢠Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables. Good to Have Skills ⢠Experience with microservices and distributed systems. ⢠Knowledge of Spring Security, Spring Cloud, or reactive programming. ⢠Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms. ⢠Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. ⢠Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ. ⢠Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools. ⢠Experience with performance tuning and scalability improvements. ⢠Familiarity with OpenAPI, Swagger, or GraphQL. ⢠Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript or TypeScript. ⢠Experience with frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js. ⢠Experience integrating frontend applications with REST APIs. ⢠Knowledge of responsive design, accessibility, usability, and web performance best practices. ⢠Familiarity with UI testing tools such as Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium. ⢠Experience working in regulated or quality-focused environments. ⢠Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives. Education and Experience ⢠Bachelorâs or masterâs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. ⢠Typically 6+ years of relevant software development experience.
