Job Brief

  • We are looking for an SEO/SEM expert to manage all search engine optimization and marketing activities.
  • You will be responsible for managing all SEO activities such as content strategy, link building and keyword strategy to increase rankings on all major search networks. You will also manage all SEM campaigns on Google, Yahoo and Bing in order to maximize ROI & Traffic.

SEO Specialist Responsibilities 

  • Ensure on-page optimization and best practice implementation. 
  •  Manage implementation and maintenance of title and meta tags, URL redirects, 404 errors and robots.txt file.
  • Perform keyword research and analysis from Google ad words tool andother commonly used tools.
  • Develop great off-page SEO and link-building strategies, link architecture and ensure spider friendliness of the platform by monitoring organic search performance of the site and top competitor sites on a daily basis.
  • Working with editorial team to deliver optimized content and SEO content initiatives that achieves our goals related to traffic, revenue and new customer growth, along with improvement on search engine visibility.
  • Teaching and collaborating with external teams (IT, Content, Marketingetc.) to ensure that every day-to-day operations of these teams take SEO impact into consideration.
  • Develop reports on organic metrics and possess working knowledge of commonly used analytical tools (Google Analytics, Ahrefs etc.).
  • Have a deep knowledge of sports news, General News related keywords and SEO best practices including competitive strategies, marketing, usability testing and industry trends.
  • Manage community building, forums, social sharing and bookmarking. 
  • Recommendations for new and existing content based on extensive keyword, competitor and market research.
  • Tackle the unique SEO challenges of sports news platforms, including: ensuring the optimization of new product pages dealing with disappearing pages  (old categories, and 404 errors) dealing with page cannibalization (duplicate pages, duplicate meta titles)
  • Optimizing copy and landing pages for search engine optimization
  • Performing ongoing keyword research including discovery and expansion of keyword opportunities
  • Researching and implementing content recommendations for organic SEO success
  • Execute tests, collect and analyze data and results, identify trends and insights in order to achieve maximum ROI in paid search campaigns
  • Track, report, and analyze website analytics and PPC initiatives and campaigns
  • Optimize copy and landing pages for search engine marketing
  • Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion and optimization
  • Research and implement search engine optimization recommendations
  •  Research and analyze competitor advertising links
  •  Develop and implement link building strategy
  • Work with the development team to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented on newly developed code
  • Work with editorial and marketing teams to drive SEO in content creation and content programming
  • Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords.

Requirements -

  •  Proven SEO experience
  • Proven SEM experience managing PPC campaigns across Google, Yahoo and Bing.
  • Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition
  • In-depth experience with website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, Web Trends)
  • Experience with bid management tools (e.g., Click Equations, Marin, Kenshoo, Search Ignite)
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints
  • Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO and SEM
  • Good knowledge of web elements (HTML, logs, website and server architecture) and ability to analyze website code to make sure it is more SEO friendly
  • Experience in creating and executing content strategies which will create the great impact on SEO front
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  •  Ability to work well in teams and independently to meet goals and 
  • deadlines
  • Possess superb verbal and written in English communication skills
  • Excellent attention to details, good attitude, and work ethics
  • BS/MS degree in a quantitative, test-driven field
